Due to family commitments all crops for the year of 2011 have been cancelled.

All orders recieved will be processed as soon as is possilbe, but this may mean that our usual 24 hour turn around may not be achieved I appologise for this in advance.

Almost back to business.....an appeal, studio openings & 12 hour diary dates

Big Happy New year to you all.....I know it's been along time between drinks...LOL well has it....

I have certainly enjoyed the beginning of the year, with lots of relaxing well Reno work

is relaxing at times...the bedroom is finally all painted and we are moving back in as I type this ( well the boys are moving the bed) I will get to the unpacking of the suitcases and boxes shortly before i begin packing the suitcases for a week away...yep you read right we are heading down to Melbourne for a family getaway and a catch up with my soul sistas family.

So let's get planning for a fantastic 2011 -

With lots of devastation hitting our shores with floods in lots of parts of our wonderful country, I have taken time to think upon things and I have been inundated with emails of how can we help.

So....our version of help in supporting Sharryn's Appeal for the Rising Waters Flood Appeal blog

I will be doing a big sort and clean once I am back from my trip and putting together some scrap stash packs...anyone who would like to do the same and can get there assisted stash to me so we can post our parcels together to the collection point.

Also like we did for the Fire Victims of Victoria - I thought any of you who can manage to complete a scrap page ready for photos I will compile the mini albums and post them onto the flood appeal

working on pages that are 8 x 10 please keep all bulky embellishments at least 2 inches from the 8 inch end ...

here are some samples of what we did for the fire appeal back in 2009

I hope with your support we can help achieve a couple of these again.

As I mentioned above we are heading off for a family break tomorrow, but will be back on Australia Day so business will be back to operating as normal with a twists and changes from then on.

So start saving the dates in your diary now for some social scrapping.

We will kick of the year with our Studio Time on Wednesday or Thursday yes I have had requests of Thursday not suiting so the Studio will be open for bookings on either Wednesdays or Thursdays - or both if the fancy takes you.

I do hope to be encouraging and teaching a few classes this year as well as I have had requests for this also, more to come of this.

Wednesday 2nd February & Thursday 3rd February will be our first of these Studio Sessions bookings are available now...Due to space limitations, only 6 places per day, these days are free and you can call to pick up orders or drop in to shop, but please call first to avoid disappointment. Remember to bring your lunch, tea and coffee will be supplied.

First 12 hour Crop

Will be held on the 5th February, and we are making this the first Saturday of all months this year so book ahead. As per our previous years crops we start at 12 noon and scrap till 12 midnight or there abouts - Bookings are essential due to limited space and as I do all the cooking as well I like to be prepared. Cost is $40 which includes your space, some inspirational ideas and your meals (afternoon tea, dinner and supper)

3rd December Christmas Crop $50 includes Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, and a gift - we also do a Kris Kringle at this crop.

The Forever Always 2010 Christmas Ornament Swap!

Well, I was just chatting to Amie Taylor, and we were both saying how we were going to miss out Ornament Swap this year, I have run one for a few years now in our Forum but without the Forum this year we won't have a place to organise it.....so I just said I will do it on my blog, but I am going to limit it to 10 - and we both laughed well if we don't get 10 at least we will both get one from each other.

So without thinking about it I stopped chatting with Amie in Facebook and jumped over here to post before i chickened out.....so who wants to join us for the Forever Always Christmas Ornament 2010 Swap!!!! I am so excited about this.!!!!!

Okay down to details

Each Swapper is to make one or more Christmas Ornaments per swapees (is that such a word)
The ornaments can be made out of any media {fabric, paper, stitchery, mixed media, etc, in any style you choose} They just need to be as special as you can make them. Ornaments YOU would want to display.
Each swapper sends their ornaments to me, with a self addressed padded envelope for your return package. Once I've gotten everyone's ornaments~on or before November 20th~I will mail the same number out to each participant as they sent in. Make sure you sign or put tags on each one of your ornaments so the other swapees (there is that word again) can send you a note of thanks. Please make sure you have ample postage on the return envelope to cover the return shipping.

Please put this image on your blog with a clickable link back to this post, and spread the word. The more, the merrier!

I will also put a gallery of ornament photos up as I recieve them....so we can all be inspired, by the parade of ornaments.

I had fun with this sketch, and have created a bit of frame to suit that I have used to landscape photos instead of the portraits suggested in the sketch. I have also used some chipboard circles to make my own buttons, by inking and then stamping them with an image before punching out two holes and then covering in dimensional magic...very happy with the result.

Echo Park Papers the colours are brilliant, very colourful without being overly bright! I found them very easy to match with photos as there is such a lovely mix of colours. I'm Teaching again, so do you fancy coming to create and learning something about Scrapbooking that maybe you didn't already know.....Colour is the key for me, so I will share with you my secrets and tips on making those colours pop.

I have taken quite a masculine approach, and replaced the flowers with cogs, and the hearts with a little title. You can see the whole LO in the Forever Always Gallery.

Jenni Bowlin Stretching the Love

This is Belinda's last inspirational blog post with us, as with all good things they must come to an end...so sadly this is Belinda's last post....but talk about going out on a bang...

Well you all know I love my Red Black and Kraft/Cream, and Jenni Bowlin often fits the bill, when Belinda chose her DT pack this month, I was in drool heaven putting it together...and even more so with this fantastic Mojo Inspiration. Belinda has managed to stretch the love over many items...very important when it's a paper you love.

So let's see

1 12 x 12 Layout
1 6 x 12 Layout
1 card and 1 gift tag using just 2 sheets of c/s, 1 pp and 1 overlay with embellies to suit.

You dont even need the 2nd cardstock really Belinda just liked it as it helped to showcase the overlay a little more.

Belinda has taken the Jenni Bowlin Studios Red Black Extension 12x12 Die Cut RED CIRCLE DAMASK

And Belinda fell in love with the pattern and colours as Did I when I was shopping ....mmmm Black/Red/Cream LOVE IT!!!

So let's check out what Belinda did with it... Using Half for the simple 6x12 Layout. I lovethat 6x12 pages are so simply stunning, they also make great gifts - or large cards.!!!

The second Half helps to enhance the colours in the 12x12 Layout, and is only just poking out from under the photos.

Then being very clever, Belinda has cut the part hidden by her photos out to use on her Card and Gift Tag....Great creative frugal use, many uses from one Sheet of 12x12. It is hidden anyway, so why not use it for something else. SO, next time your about to cover up a larger amount of nice patterned paper that you love why not trim and use what would be hidden anyway....great cards from patterned paper thats not going to be seen anyway.

The beauty of this is you can make a patterned paper stretch over many projects and by making the card and gift tag as you go reduces cleaning up time!!! One of our big Tips...cards and cleaning go hand in hand.

I'm a huge fan of anything 'Tattered Angels' & couldn't wait to have a play with their Tailored Tags.

With 'Daddy's Girl', I simply sprayed with glimmer mist & used behind the photo. The shimmer on the tag is gorgeous!

TECHNIQUE FOCUS with Belinda boyce

This months technique is about layering. Layering can give a LO a lot of depth and draw focus to the photo. Here i have condensed everything into the centre of the LO so the focus is on the photo. I have layered papers and even the buttons.

OK, we are back to it, after having a month off , yep it's only been a month but it seems like forever since I last put up a challenge. And now with NO FORUM, I have found that I have less time, how is that so, but hey I am loving it. Although I do miss your chatter, so please, please come by and leave me a comment or two. ;)

So it's time to relaunch that fantastic Monthly sketch challenge!!

Perfectly clean and simple to get us started and where my inspiration came from for this sketch was our Queen of the Sketchs Design Team Member Kyelen Hickey, love her clean lines layout.

"Gone Fishing"

In this layout, Kye has used older Scenic Route Papers - just simple strips great for using up some of your scraps.

I just love love this perfect colour combo of Kraft, black, red and green too....well it is almost my signature...LOL

TECHNIQUE: Direct - to - Paper InkingIt's one we see often on Kye's pages, simply put, it's inking the edges of the patterned paper to give it a frame and a liittle extra dimension to your layouts.

Such a techinical name, for something so simple, and can give your layout that POP that it needs to take it from wow to WOW!!!

To Ink the edges, hold your paper at an angle and wipe the inkpad against the edge of your paper. It really is that easy, sometimes it won't look like much but lay that edged piece down on your layout and POP like magic you have given it a lift. Vary the depth of colour by the angle of the pad to paper, practise to get the look you like.

This technique works great on torn edges, too!

Well it was with a very sad heart that I pressed the delete button on the Forever Always Forum, sadly it is no more. But it appears that I was too quick on pressing it, as not all members of the forum received the farewell email that was sent letting you know it was gone for good.

Then we move onto Tattered Angels...and some Glimmer Mist love....love these wee little bottles and in perfect collection of matching tones, and that clear coat, oh the sigh....I so can't wait to have some play time tomorrow to create with these....and just look at those tags...very yummy.

Mother's Day Inspiration.

Well I have been creating again....got to love new product to inspire you oh and of course an awesome occasion.

New Item for the Forever Always Store - perfect on layouts...are my new Handmade for you flowers - these can be glued or stitched onto any project - and can be custom made to suit your project - just name the colour and it will be done These little beauties measure approx 2 inches each and are $4.95 for a card of two. If you want them as hair clips they are just too cute and will cost you $6.95 for two.And of course I had to show them off on a layout - this is my creation for the Screen2Scrap Blog Challenge The challenge was to be inspired by the film Fried Green Tomatoes, with added Criteria if we scrapped an important woman in your life...who can be more important than my Mum and My Daughter - my inspirations.!!! Also had to include a green title, Yep got that one, and Green and Red as the feature colours yep and yep....and then the killer include a tomato on the page....well it's there - can you spot ~~wally~~ the tomato {it's a transparency} that's the clue and it even has some green leaves still on it too. But it is there.... Lot's of Forever Always new Jenni Bowlin stock too...love new stock to inspire you.

Amie and I were on the same wave length today with some shares for Mother's day.....here are Amie's gorgeous cards....there is just something about mother's day and flowers don't you think.

When it came to my creation, I am so inlove with my Sonia's Originals flowers and I listened big time to the oh wow, I would love one of those in red when Mum's was checking out my new Etsy stock the other day.....so it was straight to the machine to whip her one up and then I need a card to give and the gift...so why not compile the two in one, yes there is another gift...but well got to keep some things secret from snoops.

So we have the card....all pretty on it's own...but when I add one of my 3D Flower Brooches it's just well...you decide..Here is a close up on my clustering...yep more Jenni Bowlin love....those pins, oh and that all women button...just screams MUM to me...

I love doing multi photo Layout's and even doubles at times. As soon as i saw Kylene's sketch I knew i wanted to do my beach photos but having already done one Layout each of the kids I decided to condense this one down to a single LO. Loved
squeezing all the photos on one LO whilst still sticking with the sketch.

It's cybercrop time again, and we have kick started the next four days of challenges already, challenge 1 has been posted.

Amie is planning on getting us all in the groove with her fantastic easter recipe tonight and will be sharing her ingredients list shortly in the forum for her fantastic Easter project for the teacher gift, So be sure to check in later in the day for your materials supplies.

We have had such hot weather lately, this is such a huge change. Though I know I'm certainly looking forward to the cooler weather. The shops are already fully stocked with new season clothes & by the looks of it...it's a lot of black & white with silver & bling.

So why not pop over, and bring with you the supplies listed below and get creating with Amie around 8ish Wednesday Evening the 17th February 2010.

You will need

Cardstock
pattern paper
Stamps - Decorative and words
Embellishments - hearts, buttons, flowers, stars, a bracket
Scalloped circles - I use the 3 inch size
Doublesided tape

A 13cm Circle Template... A CD would probably be perfect.
Cardstock
Kaiser Christmas Carnival Collection P405 Bells (I have used a tag off this patterned paper)
6.5cm circle of pp or something to back your journaling spot you use.
Alphas
Embellishments - I have used adhesive chipboard buttons these are quite large... so if you have something like this use them or you could use stars, flowers, large real buttons
If using the same tag as me you will need a 7.5cm x 9cm photo. I cropped down a 6x4
Black ink
Also you will need a journaling pen for doodling :D

You will need:
1 6 x 8 portrait orientated photo
or 2 4 x 6 landscape photos
1 Piece of Cardstock
1 Piece of patterned paper
I piece of scrap patterned paper mine was 6 inches x 6 inches
assorted embellishments eg buttons, flowers, stickers, brads, decorative tape.... whatever is going to suit your photos and patterned paper.
Alphabets for title.

Be sure to jump on in to the forum for the free downloadable shapes Amie is using in her layout to print out on your paper so your prepared.

Forever Always is having a New Years Cleanout….

not that we are outing the old and bringing in the new, but it is time for something fresh and new. You may have noted a few changes, each of the DT family will now have a role that they are committed to each month to create on specifically.

And we are looking to adopt… So if you think you can add something special to our family on a monthly basis we want you….

Yes it’s a DT call but one with a difference… we are looking for a Cybercrop Queens and Tutorial Queens….

Requirements:
· As Cybercrop Queen – it will be your responsibility to come up with the monthly topic, and at least 2 challenges with supporting inspirational layouts. You will also be required to be present in the forum during Cybercrops.
· As Tutorial Queen – it will be your responsibility to come up with the monthly topic and at least 2 layouts or examples to be posted in the forum and on our blog.
· Complete challenges
· Be active within our site, including daily posting in the forum and regular layouts in the gallery beyond your required role
· Help promote our family and site through blogs etc including advertising of your Cybercrop or Tutorial releases and all other sneak peaks.
· Have a love for our store and the products it contains you will also provide links to them when you have used them. (Although we understand that we don’t stock all products and the you will want to use other product at times….please be mindful of items we have in store when scrapping).
· Be on call for other jobs if needed when a family member is either sick or away.

· Online recognition as a Design Team Family Member this will include your portrait in the family album, your bio and layouts will be featured on the Forever Always Website, Forum, Gallery and Blog.

· Why are you interested in becoming a member of our design team?
· Can you jump in and help out your FA family and complete assignments with short notice if necessary?
