Spotlight on Sharryn

How long have you been Scrapping?
I've been scrapping for 3 years now and LOVING it!!
Tell us about your favourite things to scrap.
Obviously layouts but I also love making OTP gifts for family and friends. I also love making mini albums for my kids and seeing the joy on their faces when they look at the little books 'all about them'.
How would you describe your scrapping style?
This is always a difficult question for me to answer as I seriously don't believe I have one particular style. I can say that most of my layouts have clean lines and I'm definately not a collage style scrapper. I seem to be always evolving with the introduction of so many new products on the market lately.
What size scrapbooker are you?
I scrap mostly 12" x 12" however I have just started an album of 'Everyday Family Moments' in 11" x 8.5"
What Camera do you use?
My camera aka my baby is a Fuji Finepix S 5600 and I LOVE this thing!! I love the ease and versatility of the settings and have managed to master most of the settings.
Can you share some of your Scrapping Space with us? See pics. (Although it has changed somewhat)
Single or Double?
Single all the way however if I have a lot of photos of a particular event I will do a double.
Favourite Colour Combo?
I seem to go through stages with colour combos but at the moment I'd have to say blue and brown.
Favourite Product?
Anything Heidi Swapp. I'm also loving the Autumn Leaves clear acrylic stamps too.
Favourite Quote?
I have always been a 'quote' person, I just love them. My all time favourite would have to be:
Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can
I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be."
Karen Ravn
My favourite personal quote, being a mother of 6, is:
A mother's role is to deliver children obstetrically once,
and by car forever after. -P. DeVries
When I was a child I wanted to…Live in a more stable and happy environment. I was always jealous of others whos' parents came to Athletics carnivals, worked in the school canteen etc as my mother never did any of these things. My childhood was, shall we say, quite disfunctional as my parents seperated when I was very young and my mother remarried and had 3 more kids. Unfortunately, it wasn't the happiest time of my life.
What song represents you?
Hmmmm..this is a hard one..I'm not really a musical person..LOL Probably INXS 'Never Tear Us Apart' .
My ideal day would go like this…DH would wake up and QUIETLY get the kids ready to take them out for the day. I would sleep in for as long as I liked then someone would come and give me an all over body massage. There would be coffee waiting for me as soon as I got up and someone would deliver me the biggest parcel of newly released scrapping products ever. My mojo would be planning layouts in my head with each new product I opened and I would sit at my spotlessly clean scrapping desk and scrap beautiful layouts, one after the other. I would then enjoy a leisurely lunch that had been prepared by someone else. Then I would take pics of all my newly created layouts, sub them and every single one would be accepted.Gawd...am I rambling here...LOL Well I can dream can't I?
Your last scrapping purchase was …Yesterday at Spotlight I bought some stuff to make my OTP item for FA LSS comp. :) Can't tell you what it was though or I'd be giving my ideas away. LOL
Can you share a tip with us?
My favourtite tip would be keep all your scraps of PP and cardstock. Store them in A4 display folders in colour coded order. I actually use my scraps all the time since I've adopted this system and it's great for when the kids want to scrap as it makes it so much easier for them to choose what colours they want to use.
One last thing…OK...heres a warning!! For those that have a pool...NEVER take a quick dip and sit back down at your scrapping desk in your cossies and lean over your work.I have ruined many a piece of cardstock with big wet boob marks doing this!!

Congratulations Sharryn for being our Featured Artist this week as winner of week 5 of our Last Scrapper Standing Competition, we wish you luck with the remainder of the Comp
.!!!
